I recently moved to Maryland which is no surprise to close friends who knew that my heart belonged in a bigger city!

One of the reasons I wanted to make this big move was because of my career and the plans that I have for myself, which hopefully align with the plans God has for my life. So far so good! New beginnings signify growth.

I followed my heart to do what I felt was good for me. If you know me personally, you’ll understand how hard that was for me because I have a tendency to put everyone’s else needs before my own. A blessing or a curse? that’s a story for a another day! I always wanted to attend Law school  in a different state besides Minnesota. I applied to George Washington University & got accepted almost instantly. That marked a beginning of a new journey that I had been hoping and praying for.  A 16 hour drive, I  wouldn’t trade for anything with an awesome man that made one of the hardest decisions I  had to make easy, and a great friend who had her arms open & welcomed me into her home!

Here is a little testimony from me:

On New Year’s Eve, my pastor Instructed  the church to do a few things: to bring an offering  in the form of the of the age they will be turning in the year 2018, bring in your prayer requests  & also a praise report that will be anointed by him (my pastor) that you will take back home with you. The goal of a written praise report is to keep God accountable for doing what he said he will do in the prayer requests and to give thanks.I kid you not, over half of the things I prayed for have been manifesting in my life & coming to pass! Getting accepted into GWU was one of them and lastly the way you will look at this depends on the level of your faith.Keep a written record of these requests to hold God accountable for them and also his promisesthat he has proclaimed over your life.I say this not to throw my achievements in anyone’s face but to urge anyone who is reading this to take their faith seriously.

(Romans 8:38), (Psalm 121), (Psalm 139), (Jeremiah 29:11)

Serve God!!If you have free time serve in the church if you can, God will surely reward you. I will not ask you to do anything that didn’t work for me… I didn’t have much to offer God last year besides my time which I invested  in helping out, at every opportunity I could get. This is hard and isn’t for everyone. However, God notices your acts of service.

(1 Corinthians 15:58), (1 Deuteronomy 11:13),  (John 12:26), (Psalm 119:10),  (1 Samuel 12:24)

Achievements and progress are wonderful. However, be careful who you discuss your plans with, people are not happy to see you blossom & bring your plans into fruition. You are courageous  enough to live your dream and they are not happy to see you succeed. Even in your inner circle, be careful who genuinely smiles and celebrates with you. Energy is everything, for those of you that are not spiritual and do not believe in the spirit of discernment, MATCH THE ENERGY YOU ARE GIVEN, BUT BE ATTENTIVE!

Not everyone is worthy of knowing what is happening in your life. It was so funny how so many people felt entitled to ask me why I didn’t tell them about my move! Who are you? Leave me alone, !… what’s life without humor lol. I learnt the hard way to asses what people’s intent is for asking you questions.

On a serious note: If you didn’t know, only one thing is clear, you did not play a role in my decison. Besides my family; my close friends, accountability partner, prayer buddies & Pastor this fell on no ones ears. Only the positive people in your life, those that are pushing you to succeed deserve to know about your personal life and plans. (Pay attention to that list of people who were aware of what I was doing)

Few things before I end this post:

1. Pray, Pray, Pray – before you open your mouth to another human being. Take it up to God.
2. If there’s something you wanna achieve- put yourself first & put in the work!
3. A few good friends are better than a bunch of meaningless & one sided friendship that don’t add any value to your life.

When God decides to open doors in your life, be ready to move too! Opportunity only comes to those who are ready for it. STAY Woke & prepare for it ❤️

Philippians 4:6 ” Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”

Till next time, Play to Win, God got you and let his grace manifest in your life.

Have a blessed week!
